The Firefighter Exam evaluates candidates' reading comprehension, problem-solving abilities, and application of rules and concepts. It does not require prior knowledge of firefighting or the Fire Department. Once you pass the written test, you will proceed to an in-person interview with FDNY Officers.

Successfully completing the exam classifies you as a Firefighter Applicant, and your name will be placed on a civil service list based on performance and other factors. Candidates will then be called to participate in the physical portion of the exam. Additionally, applicants must undergo medical and psychological evaluations, a drug screening, and a background check.

To access all features, courses, and questions in the app, you can either make a one-time purchase for lifetime access or subscribe. The cost of the purchase will be charged to your iTunes account. Subscriptions are available in different plans and are auto-renewable, with charges occurring at the selected rate and period.

You can manage your subscriptions and disable auto-renewal through the Account Settings in iTunes, following your purchase. If a free trial period is offered, any unused portion will be forfeited upon subscribing to the publication, if applicable.
